Picking the right video game for any age

Destiny: The Taken King (PC, PS4, Xbox One; $59.99). What a difference a year makes. Last year, reviews were mixed for Activision’s first game with famed studio Bungie, the originators of Halo. This holiday, Destiny might be the most popular first-person shooter with a third expansion delivering a fresh story, new subclasses and additional gear. Also, for those players who never played last year, this bundle includes the original game and first two expansions.

Fallout 4 (PC, PS4, Xbox One; $59.99). Hope you have a lot of free time to devote to this role-playing epic set in a post-apocalyptic rendition of Boston. Players depart Vault 111 in search of answers. Along the way, they battle mutated creatures and scavenge for goods to create armor and improve weapons. Prepare to spend hundreds of hours exploring.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, PS4, Xbox One; $59.99). If you preferĀ a fantasy world with less radiation, consider this incredible role-playing game from Polish studio CD Projekt Red. Players control Geralt, who uses a combination of mystical powers and combat prowess to take on a multitude of enemies including giant griffins.
