Chevrolet has rolled out a hatchback version of its Cruze compact ahead of its formal debut at the North American International Auto Show.
Yes, a hatch. A few years ago, automakers were so sure that Americans hated them that they came up with other names for them, like notchback or sportback. Now, they are in vogue again.
“With 9% market growth in small hatchbacks last year, it’s the perfect time to bring the Cruze Hatch to America,” said Alan Batey, president, General Motors North America and Global Chevrolet.
The Cruze aims to include all the practicality and features of the regular car with less overall length, which should make it easier to park in congested cities.
